Support, Education and Exercise Programs for People with Parkinson's
Condition Specific Support, Disability Services, Seniors Services, and Social / Recreational

- One-on-One Consultations:Individuals with Parkinson's, their caregivers and family members will receive support on a variety of issues by phone, email or in-person. Friendly and knowledgeable staff can offer support with understanding diagnosis, advancing illness, workplace uncertainties, telling family and friends, and questions about the future.
- Counselling: Society provides free, short-term, confidential counselling with clinical counsellors for those with Parkinson's disease and their family. You will be provided with a safe and structured environment to discuss challenges, process and provide you with extra support as needed.
- Resources & Community Referral: A plethora of online and print resources can be found in this section; from past conferences and webinars, to documentation on treatment and self-management.
- Support Groups: Society provides a network of over 50 volunteer-led support groups across British Columbia. Learn from the experiences and knowledge of others; share your perspective and learn about local professionals, and in certain areas - local activities available to you!
- PDLink: Provides peer support to people with Parkinson's and their carepartners, connecting individuals on a one-to-one basis for support with those who have had similar experiences. Communication can be by telephone or email; no face-to-face interaction in this program, and can be for as long as you would like.
- Education Events: PSBC hosts a variety of planned educational events, including workshops, conferences and webinars.
- Exercise & Active Living: Programs are developed specifically for people with Parkinson's in order to help maintain balance, strength, mobility and various activities of daily living.
- Lending Library: PSBC provides a collection of resources available to members of Parkinson Society BC at no charge. This includes books, DVDs, CDs and other media items that can be borrowed via the link provided.
