Provides services for women and their children impacted by domestic violence/abuse.
Stopping the Violence Program:
The program offers women an opportunity to address experiences of abuse from a client-centred and strengths-based perspective. Women self-refer to the program and will receive an intake appointment with an STV Counsellor. In this appointment, staff will address any safety concerns, provide additional resources, and discuss what Cythera offers.
Peace Program (Formally Children Who Witness Abuse Program):The program is for children and youth experiencing violence and provides counselling support rooted in the needs of the individual with a focus on Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling and Empowerment. Utilizing art and play, participants will develop an appropriate understanding of abuse, learn conflict resolution skills, recognize their strengths, address safety and explore the foundations of healthy relationships.
