Get Up And Go! - Falls and Injury Prevention Classes
Condition Specific Support, Services for Seniors, and Social / Recreational
Provided by Fraser Health
Eligibility criteria:
- 50 years of age or older
- Must be able to ambulate independently, with or without a mobility aid
- May use a mobility aid such as a walker, cane wheelchair, or scooter.
- Must be able to follow direction through verbal or physical gestures with or without the help of a caregiver
- Must be able to tolerate light and moderate levels of physical activity
- Not able to safely participate in a community class due to physical and/or cognitive concerns
- Must have transportation to/from the class (e.g. arrange own Handy Dart transportation)
- Must commit to 1 session per week for 6 weeks
Meeting times vary by location. Call for details and to register.
Subsidy for this program may be available through a referral from the Fraser Health Fall and Injury Prevention Program.
The program is a collaboration between the Fraser Health Falls and Injury Prevention and Osteofit (BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre’s Osteoporosis Program).
