Child Development Services

Provided by Inclusion Langley Society

Offers various child development supports and programs.
The following programs are offered:
  • Infant Development Program: The Infant Development Program (IDP) is a family-centred, home visiting program for children, birth to 3 years of age, who are experiencing or at risk for a developmental delay. They work alongside families to implement play based strategies to help children grow and learn as well as provide related resources and referrals.
  • Supported Child Development: Works collaboratively to ensure that children (birth to 19 years of age) with additional needs can be included fully in the childcare settings of their families’ choice. This is done primarily though consultation and can include provision of resources, information, and in some cases, extra staffing support.
  • Aboriginal Infant & Supported Child Development Program (AISCD): A family-centred, home and childcare based program for Indigenous children from birth to 18 years who have a diagnosis, developmental delay or who are at risk for delay. AISCD provides culturally sensitive service through home visits, childcare consultation and family support.
  • Afterschool Program: Provides group based social and recreational programs to children and youth, who require extra support, as per the eligibility criteria established by Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). The activities designed for these programs intend to facilitate development and growth in the areas of self-esteem, social skills, peer relations, and independence.
  • Children’s Respite Services: This is a time for parents and caregivers to enjoy some rest and renewal from daily demands while providing opportunities for the child to be introduced to new activities and interactions helping them grow in many ways. All families are referred by priority to our Respite Service by the Ministry of Children and Family Development’s Children and Youth with Special Needs Division.
  • Early Years Family Navigation: ILS’s Early Years Family Navigators work one-on-one with families to provide information and support your family needs, such as finding programs for you to attend with your children, assist with finding childcare, filling out paperwork, applications, and/or referrals, finding early intervention supports for your child with extra needs, help with access to food and housing needs, services for emotional, mental and physical health and assisting with connecting to other community agencies, programs, workshops and events.
