First Nations Virtual Doctor of the Day Program

Provides virtual primary health care support to First Nations citizens and communities, as well as health care providers.
The First Nations Virtual Doctor of the Day program enables members of BC First Nations with limited or no access to their own doctors to make virtual appointments. The program includes doctors of Indigenous ancestry. All doctors and allied health care professionals are trained to follow the principles and practices of cultural safety and humility.​ Certain appointment types may not be suitable for virtual appointments (e.g., physical exams, forms).
If an individual has a family doctor or nurse practitioner, they are encouraged to contact them first. If their provider is unavailable, they may then reach out to the virtual care service.

This virtual visit is hosted by an application solution (Zoom), which is available to clients on their mobile phones, tablets, and laptops. This virtual service operates 7 days per week from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM for clients who do not have access to a care provider and need one.
