Provides a range of services to support individuals and families in the community who are struggling with poverty, addictions, mental illness, hunger, and housing.
Family Services:
Sonia’s Cradle: The Babies & Toddlers Program aims to support children and their parents struggling to have the proper food, shelter, clothing, and basic necessities. These basic needs include diapers, formula, and baby furniture. For further information or if you would like to donate please contact the Community and Family Services Advocate.

Haney Rotary School Lunch Bag Program: Provides nutritious bagged lunches to school children each day. Preparation is done in the kitchen, then delivered by volunteers to the school offices where they are distributed discreetly to the students by school staff. If you would like to volunteer or donate please contact the Food Services Manager.

Summer Camp Ministry: Program sends children and youth to camp for a week at Camp Sunrise on the Sunshine Coast. Many of these children are vulnerable and attending camp gives them a chance to truly feel like a kid and forget the stresses of home for a week. The children and youth enjoy canoeing, hiking, chapel, and various activities. For further information or if you would like to donate please contact the Community and Family Services Advocate.

Back to School Program: Program collects and distributes backpacks and school supplies to students. For further information or if you would like to donate please contact the Community and FamilyServices Advocate.

Emergency Food Hampers: Provides emergency food hampers for people who are not yet registered with the food bank, moving into a new place and need the basics, or are struggling to make ends meet. For further information or if you would like to donate, please contact the Community and Family Services Advocate.

Christmas Adopt-A-Family: The program partners with local families, groups, and agencies with identified families to provide food and gift hampers at Christmas in the hopes of delivering holiday cheer to vulnerable families in our community. Community Services:

Community Meals: Provides community lunch from 12 PM—1 PM Monday through Friday and Brunch from 11 AM—12 PM Saturdays and Sundays.

Vouchers: Offer clothing, household, and furniture vouchers applicable at the Salvation Army thrift store to anyone who is struggling or in need, or persons who are fire/flood victims. If this is a service you require please contact the Community and Family Services Advocate.

Emergency Disaster Services: Provides Emergency Disaster Services to the community through the use of our Critical Crisis Response Unit. It is staffed with volunteers and has several teams ready to go when the call comes.

Street Ministry: This program provides weekly outreach using our Community Crisis Response Unit for street ministry to the community. The ministry is run exclusively with volunteers.

Once Upon a Sheep Yarn Shop: Provides the community with a local yarn shop that carries quality yarn and knitting products. All profits are channelled to support The Salvation Army Ridge Meadows Ministries. The shop is completely run by a group of volunteers. It is open from 7 PM. to 9 PM. on Tuesday Nights for an evening of knitting, laughter, and fellowship. Check out the website at onceuponasheep.ca.

Shelter & Housing:

The Emergency Shelter Program: Provides 30 beds for single adults, 8 for women, and 22 for men who 19 years of age or older. Also provides essential services that meet the guest’s immediate need for accommodation, nutritious meals, and basic hygiene. Currently offers 30 mixed temporary shelter beds. Genesis Transitional Housing: The program has 15 placements for single adults, 1 for women and 14 for men who are 19 years of age or older. See the contact information below.
