Early Psychosis Intervention Program - For young adults experiencing a first psychotic episode - Kootenay Boundary

Provides early identification and treatment for first episode of psychosis. For residents of the Kootenay Boundary area aged 19+.
Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) is an evidence based, specialized, holistic and recovery based approach to providing services to individuals and their families/partners in care affected by first episode psychosis or at risk of experiencing psychosis.

Interior Health and our partner agencies provide a range of mental health service for all ages. We strive to ensure our services are welcoming of all peoples, gender identities, cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds.

Services may include: Bridging youth and adult mental health services; care coordination & referrals; linking community services with hospital; community education, plus the following treatment, support & recovery services:
  • Screening & assessments
  • Medication administration, review & monitoring
  • Counselling, treatment & recovery plans
  • Crisis intervention
  • Life skills education & support
  • Self-management support
  • Relapse prevention

    Anyone can refer including self-referral.

    After Hours 24 hours a day call Regional Mental Health Crisis Line at no charge 1-888-353-2273. This number is provided to clients if they are experiencing increased symptoms outside of office hours. The crisis line provides clients with any emotional support needed and connects clients to various resources in the community including 911.
