Walk-In Crisis Counselling Clinic - Brooks Landing (Nanaimo)

Provides walk-in, single-session crisis counselling to individuals of all ages in the Nanaimo area.
The Walk-In Crisis Counselling Clinic at Brooks Landing is accessible for all ages, free of charge, with no appointment required - call or walk-in for a same-day appointment. Connections to mental health and substances use community services are provided, in addition to single-session crisis counselling topics such as the following:
  • Grief
  • Depression
  • Mood swings
  • Life stressors
  • Self-esteem
  • Self-harm issues
  • Suicidal ideation
  • Recent tragedies
  • Hopelessness
  • Excessive worrying
  • Post-traumatic stress
  • Emotional regulation
  • Relationship breakdown
  • Emotionally overwhelmed
  • Anxiety and/or panic attacks
  • Concern about having a mental illness
  • Loss of personal competency

Sessions are approximately 40 minutes in duration at no cost, with services designed to address concerns that require immediate attention. Appointments are not booked over the phone; please walk-in to inquire or to participate in this community-based Mental Health Service.

Note: Please be advised that the clinic has undergone multiple name changes, recently being referred to as DCC ("Drop-In Counselling Clinic").

Hours of Operation are Monday through Friday, from 10:00 AM - 5:15 PM (closed on statutory holidays); walk-in for a same day single-session crisis counselling time slot.
