Meaningful Meals for Seniors

Provided by City of Coquitlam

Delivers low cost meals to vulnerable seniors and connects them with City of Coquitlam programs and resources.
Meaningful Meals for Seniors identifies and connects socially isolated and vulnerable seniors to City of Coquitlam programs, services and leisure opportunities. The program aims to have the same volunteer/participant match each time a senior orders which helps build rapport. Volunteers are there to chat, provide an informal wellness check and offer information on programs and services within the City.

How it Works
  • Individuals may self-refer, or can be referred by agencies such as Fraser Health, healthcare professionals, or by a friend/family member. This can be done through the online form or by mailing the completed printable form
  • Once approved for the program, participants order and purchase up to four low-cost meals each week, which will be delivered to their home every Tuesday free of charge. There is no minimum purchase requirement. Note: a credit card is required to order
  • Each meal is $7.70 and includes protein, carbohydrate and vegetables. Menu options and details for the following week's meals are provided with delivered meals, and can be found online.

Eligibility
  • Be 50+ years of age
  • Be a City of Coquitlam resident
  • Have completed the referral process
  • Be facing barriers that contribute to social isolation
