A program that helps offset the costs of health related expenses.
The BC Métis Federation recognizes its members sometimes need financial assistance when they encounter health-related expenses. Responding to these needs, the BCMF Emergency Assistance Program helps fill the financial gap that can be created when costs start adding up for expenses related to an illness or disability.

Important Eligibility Criteria: The Emergency Assistance Program is for Full Members of the BC Métis Federation only (Associate Members are not eligible). If membership has expired, it must be renewed before applying for assistance.

Full members can apply for financial assistance for Health Related Expenses (HRE) including essential health equipment, medical supplies, and travel costs for medical appointments.
  • HRE assistance applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis
  • BCMF cannot guarantee a specific duration of time between the time of application and the distribution of funds
  • Recipients of HRE assistance are not eligible to apply for additional HRE assistance until the following year.
How to Apply: All applications for assistance must be submitted through the online application form. The BCMF health team will review all applications received and will follow up with applicants directly for any additional required information and to provide updates on the status of an application.
