Healthy Babies Program

Provided by Westcoast Family Centres

Supports women facing financial and social barriers through their journey towards choices that improve the health of mothers and their babies.
Healthy Babies is a pregnancy outreach program, and it is open to pregnant women and women with babies under six months of age. Healthy Babies helps women facing a variety of difficulties, including, but not limited to, financial and social barriers, isolation, and mental health concerns.

Healthy Babies groups meet in person on a bi-weekly basis, and outreach support is available for those facing barriers that prevent them from attending in-person sessions. Women are supported to have a healthy pregnancy through our collective cooking activity and a shared lunch. Participants also have access to food vouchers, vitamins, bus tickets, child-minding, and community resources. Healthy Babies operates year-round in the communities of Maple Ridge, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam.

Healthy Babies is a group activity that focuses on three core elements:
  • Resources & Peer-Support
  • Maternal Well-Being
  • Newborn Care and Development
