Community Outreach Response (COR) - Nanaimo

Mobile outreach service providing community-based crisis response services for all ages including street-based outreach.
The COR team provides rapid, mobile, community-based response to all age groups, including children, youth and families in crisis. The team is comprised of nurses, social workers, clinicians, rehab workers and peer support workers.
Eligibility: Anyone can access this service if they are experiencing urgent distress or immediate concerns related to mental health and/or substance use issues in the Nanaimo area.

- Harm reduction supplies and support
- Mental, physical or emotional assessments and supports
- Consultation, assessment, referrals & short-term follow-up for mental health and substance use issues
How to Access: Call the Vancouver Island Crisis Line (1-888-494-3888) to receive immediate support, while the individual is connected with the COR team as needed.
