Ridge Meadows Hospice Society - Support Services
End of Life Care / Palliative Care, Mental Health - Adult, and Mental Health - Child & Youth
Provided by Ridge Meadows Hospice Society
- Individual Support: Hospice volunteers offer emotional support, companionship, and an open, non-judgmental listening ear as families navigate this often difficult time. The volunteer visits the individual wherever “home “ is, be it in hospital, in long-term care, McKenney Creek Hospice, or a patient’s own home.
- Relaxation Circle: A free group support program that uses guided imagery and Healing Touch to help individuals who are living with a life-threatening illness, their caregivers and bereaved individuals. The program induces a deep state of relaxation to help cope with emotions, anxiety, and pain, relaxing both the body and mind to enhance quality of life.
- Circle of Hearts: Offers a free six-week after-school program in a safe, supportive environment where children who have experienced the death of a loved one can come together and share their grief experiences.
- Healing Steps Walking Group: An informal bereavement support walking group; weather permitting.
- Vigil Support: Volunteers are available for round-the-clock support and companionship for someone in their last few days of life.
- Grief Support: Offers free and confidential grief support for anyone grieving after a loved one has died under any circumstances. An initial meeting with a Bereavement Coordinator is the first step to receiving support.

- Child and Youth Grief Support: The program creates a safe, supportive environment for learning about grief and loss. They provide compassionate support and education for children and youth from preschoolers to 18-year-olds.
